Family memories! Ah! The Life! Friday Nights!

Large juicy hamburgers frying on the old fashioned iron skillet with the tops to hamburger buns steaming on the tops of them. A large bag of potato chips waiting to be opened. All the fixings from the garden, tomatoes, onion, lettuce and homegrown pickles. We usually only got pop on that night so my brother and I would line up the bottles before supper to see which one had the most in them and then argue over who was going to get it. Sometimes Mom would fry potatoes instead of chips and would hand out a raw potato to me to tied me over till supper was done. These were my favorite nights. School was over for the week or maybe it was even summer. Nevertheless the next days future was play! All the family was home eating around the table and waiting in anticipation for Gunsmoke and Wagon Train to come on the old black and white t.v. These were the way my siblings and I spent our Friday nights!
Ok now, what was a good memory you guys had? Say on Friday nights? Let's get some stories going here. True ones that is!

A Designer Oscillating Ceramic Portable Heater

A Designer Oscillating Ceramic Portable Heater

Author: Marjorie Chaddock

Portable heaters are used mainly for small areas like one room, RV and garages. They are less expensive to run then standard types of heating.

Capacities for space heaters run between 10,000 BTU to 40,000 Btu per hour. Some of the most common fuels are: electric, propane, natural gas and kerosene.

Most space heaters rely on convection {air heated and then circulated} into a room. infrared radiation is emitted and heats up air, objects and people in its sight.

When purchasing a space heater make sure it has a UL label, one that is thermostatically controlled to avoid wasted energy.

Keep the heater on a level surface away form traffic, children and pets. For electric space heaters plug directly into a wall outlet. For the portable space heater buy a unit with tip over safety switch that will shut off automatically.

I have found a Designer Oscillating Ceramic Heater that works and looks like a piece of art.

Designer Oscillating Ceramic Heater will provide charm and warmth to any room that you might choose. Why not choose a beautiful display of metal scroll work with a unique shape of an hourglass.

This will make a great addition to your room plus it will have functionality. Oscillation is a great function that allows for a broader area to be heated.

The Oscillating Ceramic Heater can be used on the floor or on a tabletop adding comfort and warmth when needed.

This heater is quite with an adjustable thermostat, and is an energy saver.

Sisters Mini Vacation!

Thanks guys for the good time we had! Family reunion was wonderful. I won the second raffle which gave me extra money for our sisters mini vacation. It was nice to see everyone at the reunion. We got to ride a train, shop till we dropped at an old fashioned german town called Hermann. Beautiful place. Margie will probably set up pictures on slide later. We went to a movie, saw the capital of Missouri, Jefferson City, and the very bottom of 'Lake of the Ozarks' another beautiful place called Ha Ha Tonka (meaning laughing waters) State Park. Ate out a lot, laughed a lot, met some nice people, took a lot of pictures and really enjoyed each others company. I'm getting to go again this next week to a Joyce Meyer Conference and I'm excited! Love ya all! Mary

Reunion Day September 6 2009

Today is the big day we have been waiting for. It is foggy this morning and it looks like we will have sunshine later for our big gathering. I,Margie, am writing this post. I came into town yesterday with Cary and Daniele and Keith. We are looking forward to the fellowship of family and friends catching up on everyone's life events in the past year. Some of us have not been here in a couple of years and will be amazed at how the kids have grown, and those of us who have lost weight!!!
This is Virginia and Margie is making me do this! So I will say, I'm looking so forward to seeing you today and we want to get to know everyone better, especially the new additions to the family.

Good-Bye to Vera

Vera Eileen (Sill) Perkins, aged 90 years and 2 days, entered the land of peace and rest of her Heavenly Father on July 13, 2009, surrounded by her family after a long illness. Vera was the eldest child of seven children, born to Dewey H. and Ethel (Hayes) Sill in rural Jasper County at East Hollow (Bell Center), Mo., on July 11, 1919.Her dad and our dad were brothers, making us first cousins. We missed Vera attending our family reunions and her phrase"cousins by the dozens".
I remember her saying when she was born she was so small they didn't think she would live. But her folks make an incubator by heating up iron skillets and towells and laying her in between them. You will be sadly missed Vera, but know you are making those good cookies in heaven.

Vera Perkins 90th birthday!

Had a nice visit with Vera Perkins. She is our cousin by the dozen! Dad and Mom were her uncle and aunt. She was 90 years old today. Looks good, struggles with her talking due to the stroke but still has those bright loving eyes! They had cupcakes, pretty flowers, and drinks to celebrate. Lots of cards! Met lots of people that looked like a Sill that I didn't know! Saw David and Joyce there and Jim and Virginia were there earlier in the day. I know Vera won't see this but I know she will have a good birthday! We all love ya Vera!
