Portable heaters are used mainly for small areas like one room, RV and garages. They are less expensive to run then standard types of heating.

Capacities for space heaters run between 10,000 BTU to 40,000 Btu per hour. Some of the most common fuels are: electric, propane, natural gas and kerosene.

Most space heaters rely on convection {air heated and then circulated} into a room. infrared radiation is emitted and heats up air, objects and people in its sight.

When purchasing a space heater make sure it has a UL label, one that is thermostatically controlled to avoid wasted energy.

Keep the heater on a level surface away form traffic, children and pets. For electric space heaters plug directly into a wall outlet. For the portable space heater buy a unit with tip over safety switch that will shut off automatically.

That does have a really nice look to it, but it isn't earthy enough for my taste or my houses look. I still prefer this portable infrared heater I have. I love the look to it and its incredibly powerful for its size.
