Good-Bye to Vera

Vera Eileen (Sill) Perkins, aged 90 years and 2 days, entered the land of peace and rest of her Heavenly Father on July 13, 2009, surrounded by her family after a long illness. Vera was the eldest child of seven children, born to Dewey H. and Ethel (Hayes) Sill in rural Jasper County at East Hollow (Bell Center), Mo., on July 11, 1919.Her dad and our dad were brothers, making us first cousins. We missed Vera attending our family reunions and her phrase"cousins by the dozens".
I remember her saying when she was born she was so small they didn't think she would live. But her folks make an incubator by heating up iron skillets and towells and laying her in between them. You will be sadly missed Vera,but know you are making those good cookies in heaven.
